GAN’s recent NASDAQ evolution has thrust the Finance organization into a rapidly evolving team environment, ready to support hypergrowth and the secular shift to online gaming.  With operations in multiple states in the U.S. and a growing presence internationally, the Company is experiencing growing complexity as it relates to tax regulations and compliance.

Job Purpose:

We are seeking VP, Tax with a mission to lead efforts to identify, plan, develop and execute global strategic tax initiatives to benefit the Company’s operations and financial results.  The VP, Tax will be further responsible for creating strong processes to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the tax provision, and ensure that compliance with domestic and international tax requirements are met. 

The VP, Tax will be instrumental in ensuring that all local, federal and foreign tax requirements are met, and that the Company’s overall tax strategy facilitates growth and mitigates risk.  You will oversee and manage all internal and external relationships related to the tax function, and support operations through transactional research in collaboration with cross functional teams.

You will report directly to our SVP, Corporate Controller and join forces with our Finance and Operations Teams to develop and guide GAN’s tax processes, which are instrumental in the Company’s overall financial management strategy. This is a high visibility role. You will collaborate with cross-functional department heads as well as board members and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, high growth environment.

Description of Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision calculations for both IFRS and US GAAP standards
  • Manage and develop a team of tax professionals.  Demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and train team members
  • Recognized thought leader and business partner across the company
  • Oversee completion of federal, state, local and international income tax returns
  • Monitor relevant developments in US and Foreign tax policies and legislation and communicate implications and plans to mitigate risk to executive Management.
  • Oversee the preparation, review and submission of all tax payments.
  • Provide support to international operations teams with timely tax advice on international transactions.
  • Partner and liaise with senior business leaders to effectively strategize and advise on tax planning matters
  • Develop tax forecasts to allow for tax planning and projections of effective tax rates
  • Create tax process control documentation, tax policies and procedures, and disclosure controls to ensure they are effective, maintained and updated in accordance with all jurisdictional standards
  • Develop and implement process improvements through the use of technology
  • Responsible for transfer price studies and review of transfer price calculations.
  • Assist with preparation and review of domestic sales and use, property taxes and international VAT filings
  • Assist with payroll tax complexities related to share based compensation



  • Bachelor's Degree; CPA certification
  • At least 12 years’ experience within finance and accounting; preference to Big 4 audit experience
  • Strong technical tax expertise, including strong knowledge of U.S. taxation of international transactions and operations, transfer pricing, tax treaties, etc.
  • Knowledge of ASC 740 and experience producing tax provisions for financial reporting
  • Ability to present, articulate, and defend analysis with key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Strong emotional IQ (EQ) and demonstrated ability to create relationships with new people quickly and easily and manage those relationships effectively over time
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Self-motivated and solution-oriented
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan strategically, but stay on top of tactical execution


Travel Requirements:

This role could require up to 5% of travel internationally and domestically (2-3 weeks a year).  Therefore, a valid and current passport must be maintained.
