Team Overview:

Finance team members are located in the London, Irvine (CA), Costa Rica, and Estonia offices and cover all financial accounting and reporting aspects for GAN Limited (including the recently acquired B2C Coolbet business). This role is based in London and covers the B2B business.

 Job Purpose:

This role is required to support the Sr. Manager, Core Finance and the Accounting Manager given the growth of the company and the recent move to a shared service model based in Costa Rica. This is a critical role in the Finance department, with a specific focus on the commercial and operational aspects of the business with oversight of revenues, cost of sales and capitalised development costs. There is a business partnering element particularly with the Client Success and Sales teams on the revenue side and the development team on the capitalised development side. The role will focus on building relationships between those departments and Core Finance to gain business and commercial knowledge to ensure these areas are materially correct, to optimise key Finance processes in those areas as well as reviewing the month end close. Tasks include reviewing revenue and billing models, as well as monthly sales invoices, journal entry review, balance sheet reconciliation review, audit support preparation and/or review, in addition to ad hoc projects. The Finance Manager will be tasked with reviewing and collaborating with the shared services team in Costa Rica for their areas of responsibility. In addition to reviewing transactions processed by the shared service team, the Finance Manager will be adding value through analytical analysis and process improvement. A number of projects within this remit will be focused on driving forward the automation of the sales invoicing process, which will be key to success.  One of the projects is the implementation of RPA (Robotics Process Automation) for the billing / revenue process.  It is currently an exciting time at GAN with many changes occurring and there are significant opportunities for growth for the successful candidate.

 Description of Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage components of the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts receivable, sales invoicing, revenue recognition, royalties, cost of sales, and capitalised development
  • Transactional close, including review and approval of journal entries
  • Review Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure revenues and cost of sales are recorded correctly and sales invoicing is accurate by taking full ownership of this area
  • Ensure capitalised development costs are materially correct and drive process improvements and automation in this area
  • Review month-end analysis with the view to identifying corrections
  • Review/prepare variance analysis on P&L accounts
  • Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure the accounting processes followed by the core finance team adhere to accounting policies
  • Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
  • Business partner with the Client Success, Sales and Development teams
  • Assess current practices and procedures, make recommendations for improvements, and drive these forward
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
  • Drive forward projects that improve the sales invoicing / revenue process, including the implementation of billing automation and RPA


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Qualified accountant with 6+ years of general accounting in an international company (preference to combination with Big 4 audit experience)
  • Demonstrate strong understanding IFRS and U.S. GAAP
  • Expert in month-end close and journal entry review
  • Highly experienced in process improvement
  • Advanced professional skills in Excel
  • Preference to candidates who have worked in a SOX 404 environment
  • Proven ability to deliver under pressure
  • Prior experience using Microsoft D365 Business Central preferred
  • Strong emotional IQ (EQ) and demonstrated ability to create relationships with new people quickly and easily and manage those relationships effectively over time
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Travel Requirements:

This role may require up to 10% travel.
