Team Overview:

This role will join the growing global based Project Management team where the successful candidate will enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced and exciting environment using the latest technologies. You will be comfortable working within an agile and creative development environment on a wide variety of exciting products and features, reacting to constantly evolving and rapidly expanding market.

Job Purpose:

In this role you will be responsible for leading a number of cross functional Agile delivery teams using Agile delivery methods in a fast-paced environment. You will be the catalyst for collaboration as well as the technical lead in your discipline. This challenging role will exercise your talents both as a change agent and as a technical specialist.

We are adopting Agile as a framework and take a practical approach rather than forcing our teams to stick to a rigid set of agile rules with no flexibility - vital to your role will be promoting the use of appropriate Agile delivery tools and techniques, along with continuous learning and innovation.

You will be a key influencer for the adoption of Agile delivery within Scrum. You will need to establish solid working relationships with other teams and Project Managers to plan for and manage cross squad dependencies and risks.

Description of Job Responsibilities:

  • Impart confidence in the team in their capability to achieve success.
  • Clarity – ensure visibility to the team on key milestones and priorities coming from product agenda or technology changes. Deliver transparency on team’s plans to the department and to the stakeholders.
  • Operational excellence – balance effort between reliable services and delivery commitment. Ensure high quality support culture in the team. Drive continuous operational improvement through tooling and prioritised corrective actions.
  • Tech direction – know when to pull in architects, technical leads and other senior tech members to support the team’s thinking and communicate clearly its key decisions. Ensure tech direction of the department is followed proactively in the team.
  • Control risks – work with the team to identify and mitigate issues and risks. Clearly identify and manage external dependencies.
  • Grow and improve an effective self-organizing, cross-functional and disciplined team where individuals recognize that team success is more important than individual success.
  • Experience as a Delivery Manager or Scrum Master, successfully implementing software development projects using Agile methodologies, managing projects of medium/large size and complexity. Being strong technically is a must, so previous development experience would be beneficial, allowing you to provide highly credible leadership to teams and to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Delivery Manager or Scrum Master, and be able to demonstrate experience of Agile software development principles and practices.
  • At a minimum, you must have attained a first level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I), ideally second or third level (CSP, CTC, PSM II, PSM III).
  • Experience running/taking an active part in workshops and discovery activities, as well as running/taking an active part in forecasting and planning.
  • You must be able to promote empowerment of the team, ensuring each team member is engaged in the project and making meaningful contributions whilst encouraging a sustainable pace with high levels of quality across the team.
  • Solid technical background required. Good understanding of continuous delivery, support best practices, technical debt, software architecture, scaling, DevOps, etc.
  • Experience achieving successful software product delivery.
  • Experience growing and facilitating highly motivated and capable teams to deliver innovative software products.
  • Establishing credibility with people very quickly.
  • Facilitation, participatory decision-making and conflict resolution.
  • Light-touch leadership that employs a highly collaborative approach to guide people without controlling them but employing authority when the situation requires.
  • Effective organization that reduces the amount of noise, distractions and interruptions.
  • Mentoring skills that demonstrate the agile values and principles in every thought and action.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Help the team be data-driven and track agreed performance metrics.
  • Help the team establish and abide by a set of ‘norms’ that help them govern their standards, behaviors and interactions.

Travel Requirements:

This role requires up to 10% of travel.
