HR Expert & Office Manager (maternity cover)
The Job in a Nutshell
This role is part of a global HR team, focusing on providing general HR support and office management in our Sofia office. You’ll oversee a variety of HR and office operations, including health and well-being programs, benefits, onboarding and exit interviews, learning and development initiatives, and employee relations. You’ll also coordinate events, manage suppliers, arrange travel, and ensure the office remains a productive and welcoming space. Working closely with leadership, you’ll support both local and global HR initiatives, contribute to policy development, and help foster a positive, engaging culture for all employees.
This role is temporary, covering maternity leave, and is ideal for candidates looking for a fixed-term opportunity.
A Sneak Peek into Your Role
- Supporting the HR team with global and local initiatives, including event management, making recommendations, and implementing improvements.
- Managing the benefits system and organizing health and well-being programs for employees.
- Providing onboarding support for new hires, conducting exit interviews, and participating in learning and development activities.
- Assisting in building and maintaining local and global policies and procedures, and updating office policies when needed.
- Coordinating travel arrangements and organizing monthly events such as parties, breakfasts, and games.
- Liaising with suppliers and managing vendors for cleaning, catering, and security services, as well as purchasing supplies, organizing office layouts, and ensuring the office is well-maintained with necessary repairs arranged promptly.
You’re good at
- You have 2+ years of experience in HR and payroll in Bulgaria. Having a degree in Management, HR, or a related field is an advantage.
- You are confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- You can manage your own workload from start to finish, while being well-organized, adaptable, and comfortable handling the administrative challenges of supporting a diverse group of colleagues.
- You have great attention to detail, combined with a proactive, forward-thinking approach. You are a self-starter with a positive mindset, who works well both independently and as part of a team.
- You have excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with organizational management and succession planning is a plus.
- Knowledge of employee attraction, engagement, and retention strategies is an advantage.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and Bulgarian is a must, as these are our primary languages of communication.
